I recently rebuilt a 1.6L and the only problem I had after the rebuild was with the paper gasket on the oil pump. It leaked so bad. Just like all the paper gaskets I have used in the past, I put Permatex Copper Spray on the gasket. Apparently didn't seal this good enough. I ended up taking the front of the engine apart and putting silicone for the gasket.
